ASSAM: CENTRAL GOVERNMENT REMOVES SIX SECTORS FROM NEC

In a latest update, Modi led BJP Government passed away the plenary council and approved North East Council (NEC) scheme unilaterally in the cabinet on 28th March, 2018. While the following was stated in a press conference addressed by APCC President Ripun Bora. It can also be noted that while targeting the BJP Government, APCC president highlighted about the negligence of the Prime Minister towards the state. According to reports, as in December 2017 Central Government took away six sectors from NEC, unilaterally without any consultation with plenary council. While this took turns when no one except the Congress CM from Mizoram, Lal Thanhawla voiced his decedent against the issue.

Further, Ripun Bora also states that on one side Narendra Modi's view of Assam where he frames the state to be 'Ashta Lakshmi' while turning the other side of the page it shows that only Rs 20 crore has been released for per state of North East for development processes.
