Assam CM holds virtual meeting on COVID vaccination Completion Campaign

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday held a video conference with DC, SP and other senior officials to discuss about the Covid Vaccination Completion Campaign which will be undertaken from 29th November to 5th December, 2021 in the state.

The Chief Minister said, “The State government in a bid to achieve 100% Covid vaccination in the state undertakes the Covid Vaccination Completion campaign from 29th November to 5th December, 2021. Under this campaign, verification teams will visit all houses in each polling booth area and cross check the certification process and countersign the certificates for completion of the first dose Covid vaccination for the area”.

CM Sarma asked the officials to carry out the campaign in a mission mode so that people who didn’t take vaccine could be identified and vaccination of all eligible people within the stipulated period could be ensured. He also emphasised on second dose vaccination and directed the officials to keep all medical facilities ready to meet any exigency during the campaign.

Chief Minister Sarma further said that the campaign will be a massive exercise which is being carried out to prevent the third wave of COVID pandemic. He asked the officials to consider this as a mission to save the state and the country from the pandemic.

The Chief Minister also underlined the role of police, who will assist the civil administration in successful completion of the campaign. Chief Minister Sarma also said that all ministers, Chief Secretary, DGP and other nominated officers will visit polling station areas as observer to guide the campaign.
