Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal Felicitates 36 ‘Best Performing Teachers’

Guwahati, September 5, 2019:

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has felicitated thirty-six ‘Best Performing Teachers’ this Teacher’s Day.

While addressing the gathering at the 58th State Level Teacher’s Day celebrations at Sankardev Kalashetra in Guwahati, the CM honored thirty-six Best Performing Teachers for their exemplary performance in imparting knowledge to students across the state.

Additionally, ten teachers from Kamrup (M) were also felicitated for their constant dedication towards society.

Ten Principals of high performing schools were also honored with a certificate and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh each.

Paying his tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Sonowal urged teachers to create awareness on Government initiatives such as Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Fit India Movement and aid in eliminating drug abuse and superstitions from the society.

He shared his moments on his official Twitter handle saying, “This is the age of smartness. Smart students, smart teachers, smart citizens.” He added that value-based education is the need of the hour.
