Assam: Condolences pour in for departed UPPL MLA Leho Ram Boro

GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and a host of others today paid their condolences to Tamulpur MLA Leho Ram Boro.

Mourning the death of the Tamulpur MLA, Sarma said he was a dedicated politician and that his going away is a big loss for the state.

"I pray to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul," the chief minister added.

Former chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that he is "deeply anguished by the untimely demise of UPPL legislator of Tamulpur, Leho Ram Boro.

"He will be remembered for his community services. My heartfelt condolences to his family and well-wishers. May almighty give the family strength to bear the irreparable loss," Sonowal tweeted.

From across the political aisle, Nazira MLA Debabrata Saikia wrote, "I offer my heartfelt condolences upon the demise of MLA of UPPL from Tamulpur,

Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass said he is deeply saddened to learn about the untimely demise of the MLA of Tamulpur, Shri. Leho Ram Boro.

"My sincere condolences to the bereaved family. I pray to the Almighty for the eternal peace of his departed soul," he added.

Boro, sitting MLA who represents Tamulpur Assembly Constituency of Assam, passed away today at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where he was undergoing treatment for COVID-19.

Boro was admitted at Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in a critical condition and was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after suffering a stroke.

Days earlier, Majendra Narzary, an MLA from Assam’s Gossaigaon assembly constituency, also died due to post-Covid-19 complications at the GMCH.
