DISPUR: The Assam State Unit of the Indian National Congress has sounded a clarion call to all its mandals to support the farmers' "bandh" that has been called on December 8 as a mark of resentment against the Centre's new Farm Laws. The Assam Congress has asked all its workers to express solidarity with the agitators, who have stayed put on Delhi borders for 10 days.

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee today released a statement clarifying that it shall indeed be supporting the "bandh" called by the farmers who are demanding the repealing of the "anti-farmer legislations."

Extending moral support to the agitating farmers, the Assam Congress has also informed that the party's workers from each Congress Mandal Committee shall be joining the farmers in the fields of the state to register their protest.
