There had been included subjects like environment- conscious development, wastage and rape of natural resources along with preparation of a national conservation policy for protection of natural resources, importance of education and facts, constituting a special task force, control of air and water pollution and others mentioned in the manifesto,” said Saikia.

He further added,“The manifesto of 1991 included implementation of rules for pollution control and pledge for development of a national unified water and land policy. Rajiv Gandhi also announced priority for wildlife.”
