As such, catering to the rising number of COVID-19 patients has been a herculean task. One of the sources contacted Inside Northeast to inform regarding the state of the Khanapara COVID-19 facility. The friend of the patient alleged that the facility is not hygienic. "There are 5,6 nurses and 4,5 ward boys that cater to the entire people lodged there. No one to clean", said the source. The patient didn't even take a bath due to the unhygienic conditions for the entire period of his stay. He was tested negative after the third test. Another important concern has been that the patient was mildly symptomatic and had a cough and even then he was kept in the Khanapara facility. As per earlier reports, Khanapara facility was only for asymptomatic patients. However, the source does raise, that GMCH has been cleaned and has provided better facilities since the parent and wife of the patient was in GMCH.
