Assam COVID-19 recovery reaches one lakh mark

Assam has crossed one lakh recoveries from COVID-19 infection. Announcing the data on twitter, Assam Health & Family Welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “With 2166 discharged cases today, we have crossed 1 Lakh recovered patients.” Adding, “We bow down to efforts of the medical team, and with this spirit; we shall win over COVID-19.”

The total discharged patients tally has surged to 101239. Assam detected 2579 coronavirus cases on Tuesday pushing the active caseload of the state to 31369.

Out of the new cases Kamrup (Metro) reported 729 cases, Dibrugarh 160, Jorhat 146 and Dhemaji 110. The total cases to date has escalated to 130823.

On the other hand, Assam registered another eight coronavirus related deaths on Tuesday .The death toll has now mounted to 378. The victims are Azizur Rahman (53), Udalguri, Rina Bhuyan Saikia (63), Hojai, Bhanu Chandra Dey (66), Kamrup (M),  Parag Kumar Borah (53), Dilip Kumar Phukan (54), Dibrugarh,  Shanu Sutradhar (37), Cachar, Anjali Rani Dutta (60), Jorhat, Rajesh Subedi (41), Bongaigaon.
