Assam has reported 23 new COVID-19 cases taking the total to 1384 as on June 1st, 2020.

Of the 23 confirmed cases, 11 Barpeta, 5 Udalguri, 3 Dhubri, 3 Darrang, 1 Sonitpur

Informing this Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted:

Of the 1384 cases, 185 have been cured or discharged, 1192 are active while four died due to the infection and three patients were migrated in Assam.

So far today, on 1st June, 45 cases reported so far

On May 31st, a total of 190 positive cases have been reported.

Assam has crossed 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31st, 2020. First 100 cases were reported on May 17th, 2020.

With this, the state reported 159 positive cases on May 30th, 2020 while 174 cases on May 29th, which was the single-day highest, 97 cases on May 28th and 92 cases on May 27th in Assam. The state registered 116 cases on May 26th, 2020 while on May 25th, 2020, the state recorded 147 cases. On May 24th, 2020, Assam registered 46 COVID-19 cases while on May 23rd, 2020, the state registered 67 cases while 49 cases were reported on May 22nd, 2020 in Assam.

Assam and Northeast India

Assam has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases followed by Tripura.

India cases so far

As of 1st June, India has reached 1,90,535 in terms of corona positives. The country currently has 93322 active cases with 91819 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 5394. The country has seen a spike of 8,392 new cases and 230 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 2 thousand deaths. It has recorded 67655 corona cases with 29329 cured, 2286 deaths and 36040 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 19844 cases with 8478 cured, 473 deaths, and 10893 active cases. Tamil Nadu has crossed 22333 cases with 12757 cured, 173 deaths 9403 active cases. Gujarat with 16779 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 9919 have been cured, 1038 deaths, and 5822 active cases.

India has surpassed China’s official figure of 82,933 confirmed coronavirus cases. India now has 7th in most cases in the world and has surpassed Germany. So far, the USA has the highest number of covid19 cases at 1,837,170 cases

Global coronavirus cases have surpassed 6.15M cases, with Latin America overtaking the United States and Europe in the past week to report the largest portion of new daily cases globally. It represents a new phase in the virus' spread, which initially peaked in China in February before large-scale outbreaks followed in Europe and the United States.

Much will be understood in the days to come with interstate airlines getting opened, which has increased the spike of cases as the country heads towards a relaxed system of lockdown 5.0. The question is, is living with corona the new normal in Assam and rest of the world?
