Assam: Dibrugarh Police seizes drugs, arrests 5 in joint operations

In two joint operations with CRPF, Dibrugarh police led by SP Shwetank Mishra seized huge quantity of narcotic drugs, ganja, gold jewellery and cash on Thursday.

DIBRUGARH: In two joint operations with CRPF, Dibrugarh police led by SP Shwetank Mishra seized huge quantity of narcotic drugs, ganja, gold jewellery and cash on Thursday.

The police has also arrested 5 accused involved in the cases.

In the first operation, the team arrested one person with 1.100 kg ganja.

The team recovered 592 gms of heroin (approx market value ₹25 lacs),  cash ₹ 66000, jewellery worth lacs of rupees and arrested 4 persons in the second operation.

One of the main leaders, Abdul Karim, along with two women and another male person were also booked by the police.

As stated by Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra, Assam Police has started a "war against drugs" under the direction of CM Himanta Biswa Sharma and DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta.
