The Crime Branch sleuths of the Assam police on August 7th, 2020, arrested a drug peddler at AK Azad Road opposite Netaji apartment in the city.
The team in cooperation with the Fatasil Ambari Police intercepted the lady at around 1 pm this afternoon and recovered three packets of suspected heroin from the possession of the woman. The accused has been identified as 35-year-old Mina Kumari.
Later, acting on the inputs, the team recovered eight more packets of suspected heroin and Rs 50,000 in cash from her rented house located at Bye Lane 1A of Sankar Nagar.
The total weight of the seized heroine will be 125 grams (approximately), a police statement stated. The sleuths also recovered a mobile phone.
Meanwhile in Dhubri, police nabbed one Rezaul Karim with a huge cache of a contraband consignment of spasmatic tablets and one Monwar Hussain with hundreds of banned cough syrups.
