RANGIA: The Assam education department has been showing more interest in RSS run educational institutions than the public educational institutes, alleged the SFI and DYFI.

Addressing a press conference at Rangia today, the SFI and the DYFI have alleged that the department allocated fund to the saffron organization run institutions ignoring the government schools.

The left students' organizations said that in the year 2017-18, Shankardeva Shisu Niketon received Rs.1.1 crore from the state government.

Likewise, the government has given a fund of Rs. 10 lakh to the Panchatirtha Shisu Niketon during the same fiscal year, the organizations have further alleged, adding that they would organise protest against such "discrimination" of the government. Both the organizations would stage students' protest on December 22.

They also said that around 200 teachers and 36 other posts are lying vacant in the government schools of the Kamrup district. They said they have conducted a survey that brought into light such government indifference towards public educational institutions.
