Assam: Five trucks set on fire by miscreants at Dima Hasao, kills 5

Five trucks were set on fire by miscreants killing four people on Thursday night at the Rangerbill area of Assam’s Dima Hasao district.

DIMA HASAO: In a horrific incident, five trucks were set on fire by miscreants killing five people on Thursday night at the Rangerbill area of Assam’s Dima Hasao district. A truck carrying coal from Arda basti and four trucks carrying clinker from Umrangsu Dalmia cement factory were set on fire after 30 rounds of firing by the miscreants.

It is suspected that the Dimasa National Liberation (DNLA) militant are behind the incident. According to sources, the DNLA militant organization demanded extortion money at Dalmia cement, as they did not get the extortion money hence they attacked on the trucks.

On 14th and 15th August 2021 along with other five districts, Dima Hasao witnessed 36 hours bandh called by DNLA militant organization. During the bandh on the next day, firing incidents took place in Langting area and Maibang area but there were no causalities reported.

Earlier also this type of similar incident happened in Dima Hasao, at that time DNLA organization also following the same way to expressing their activeness.

Dima Hasao has faced similar incidents in the past when DHD(J) organization were active. Six trucks of Vinay cement which is now known as Dalmia cement were burned down and incidents. Eight people were killed by the militant organization in Umrongso. It is a matter of great sadness that these incidents claim the lives of innocent people.
