Assam government issues fresh SoPs to deal with COVID-19

The Assam government on Monday issued a fresh SoP as per which containment status in five districts will continue to remain in force until further order.

GUWAHATI: The Assam government on Monday issued a fresh SoP as per which containment status in five districts will continue to remain in force until further order.

These districts will continue to have round a clock curfew imposed.

Curfew has been partially relaxed in Goalpara and Morigaon district of Assam for showing moderate improvement in positivity rate of Covid 19. These districts will be under curfew from 1pm to 5 am next morning. Shops will remain open till 12 pm in these districts.

The rest of the districts will have curfew from 5pm to 5am while shops will remain open till 4 pm.

There will be a total ban on the movement of all public and private transport in the containment districts. However, the movement of goods shall continue. Three districts including Sivasagar, Nagaon, and Dibrugarh will be under close watch, said the Health Minister.

All inter-district passenger transport services and movement of people to and from other districts shall remain suspended. Public gathering is banned in total containment districts. In other districts, up to 10 persons are allowed for marriage or funeral programme. Wearing of face mask is compulsory in all public places across the state.

The Health Minister further said that Eid has to be celebrated home and Namaz at Mosque is allowed with only 5 persons maximum including the religious head.

The notification further stated that Excise authority would take strong action against illegal production and sale of country liquor in all the districts.

Other restrictions including odd-even formula for plying of vehicles, declaration of containment zones etc. and exemptions as notified in the order of July 6, 2021 shall continue to remain in force except those specifically modified by this order.
