The Assam government is all set to provincialise 30 new colleges within this year. This was stated by state Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the second day of the four day autumn session of the Assam assembly. Sarma said in the question hour that colleges having any kind of concurrences within 2006 will be provincialised.

“According to the provinciaisation act of 2011, colleges with final approval and concurrence would be provincialised. But in 2017, our government amended the act and gave a relaxation. So, colleges with any kind of concurrence, part one, two or three before 2006 will be provincialised. This year, we are going to provincialise 30 new colleges,” said Sarma in his speech.
