RAIPUR/DUDHNOI: Assam minister and BJP star campaigner Himanta Biswa Sarma today assured all possible help from the government to the family of slain CRPF Bablu Rabha to overcome his loss by his family.
Jawan Bablu Rabha was martyred in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal attack on Saturday along with 4 other security personnels. The encounter with the Naxals took place between Bijaur and Sukma districts, according to police sources.
“We are with the family during this hard time and they will receive all the possible government facilities,” Sarma assured at a meeting in Dudhnoi.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal also tweeted: “The whole nation stands behind the bereaved family of Swahid Bablu Rabha in this hour of extreme grief. My sincere condolences.”
Rabha, a jawan who hailed from Dudhnoi, Assam, was a part of the elite unit of CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action).
Director general (Naxal operations) of Chhattisgarh Police Ashok Juneja confirmed 5 security personnel died on the spot during the encounter on Saturday and now in a recent development number of death of the security personnels increased to 8.
21 jawans along with 7 from the CRPF are still missing after Saturday’s encounter with the Naxals in Chhattisgarh between Bijapur and Sukma districts, according to police sources.
In that very encounter, 30 jawans were injured, and injured security personnels were admitted to Bijapur Hospital and Raipur Hospital.
As per the police officials, the body of a Maoist woman also recovered from the spot.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences to the families of the brave hearts on Twitter. PM Modi’s tweet read: “My thoughts are with the families of those martyred while fighting Maoists in Chhattisgarh. The sacrifices of the brave martyrs will never be forgotten. May the injured recover at the earliest.”
Chhattishgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel also took to his social media handles to express condolences and a part of his release read: “The martyrdom of our security forces will not go in vain.”
BJP MP from Mangaldoi Dilip Saikia slammed Baghel for campaigning in Assam in spite of a major Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh.
In a span of less than half a month, it was the second Naxal attack in the state which was major. Before this, on March 23 Naxals blew up a bus in Narayanpur district carrying security personnel with an IED, where 5 DRG personnel were killed.
