With the rise of Covid19 cases in Assam and an increasing number of areas placed under containment zone, the state govt wants the lockdown to be extended.

On 11th May, PM Modi held a video conference with all the CMs of the country. In that, it has been brought to light that the decision to extend the lockdown will depend upon the individual states. However, he stated that the fourth phase of lockdown will have its own relaxations. As per sources, the Assam govt is planning to increase the lockdown for another 2 weeks. Much will be clear on the issue in the coming days with the current lockdown soon to end by May 15.

To take stock of the situation, PM Modi is set to address the nation at 8PM.
