Assam: HBS signals important fight as more migrants return, other measures announced

Taking stock of the situation of the coronavirus pandemic, Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed the media gathering. He stated the 15 found positive in Guwahati were contact and appreciated the authorities of Assam for doing proper lin testing.

He talked about the goodwill of a mother whose child had heart ailments and has readied to take care of her even though the mother risks getting infected from covid19. As for the other cancer patients who were tested positive, he stated, "they don't require contact tracing because they were directly lodged in the quarantine centre after coming from Bombay".

"The Rajkamal hotel linked to Fancy Bazar 340 samples examined - if many are positive from this sample - mobile tower tracing will be done to investigate at least primarily", said the Health Minister.

Himanta Biswa Sarma announced, "total 501 passengers arrived in Assam by the first special train which started from Delhi on 12th May and de boarded passengers in different stations of Assam en route to Dibrugarh. The train reached Dibrugarh this morning with 261 passengers".

219 passengers will arrive Assam today by the Special train which started from Delhi yesterday. The passengers will de-board in different stations in Assam till it reaches Dibrugarh tomorrow morning.

The first Shramik express from Chennai to Mizoram will reach Guwahati today en route to its journey to Mizoram. 625 passengers will de-board in Assam (in Guwahati, Silchar etc) today. It will be a big challenge for Assam after the arrival the passengers. The government seeks cooperation from all to combat the pandemic.

Other announcements include

It may take 5 -7 days' time to get the test results of the people who are in institutional quarantine. People should keep patience till their reports are made available by the concerned department.

• The people who are in 14 days institutional quarantine, their test results are negative and no symptoms are there, they may be shifted from institutional quarantine to home quarantine for the rest of the 14 days period subject to the decision of the district administration depending upon the condition of the district on that particular day.

• The test reports of the people under quarantine will get their test results in their individual mobile number from now onwards
