Assam: HSLC Exam Begins Today, 3,58,446 Students to Appear

Guwahati, February 10, 2020:

The Assam High School Leaving Certificate or HSLC exam, 2020 has begun today. A total of 3,58,446 students will be appearing for the 2020 HSLC exam across 860 centers of the state today.

Conducted by the Board of Secondary Education of Assam (SEBA), the HSLC exam will conclude on February 29. Parents and guardians of the candidates appearing for their exams have gathered outside the exam centres in huge numbers.

The authorities this year have installed CCTV cameras and signal jammers so that the HSLC exams can be conducted in a smooth manner. "It's a good step that the authorities have taken such a step. The ones who are cheating should be punished. The students will maintain their integrity only when the authorities are strict," said one of the parents who stood outside Kamrup Academy.

It may be mentioned here that the students engaged in cheating, carrying mobile phones and failing to obey invigilators would be facing suspension for the next three years. Speaking on the suspension, another parent said, "I am very happy that the board has come up with this new step. The students who are serious about their studies will be good and the ones who cheat deserve punishment so that they learn from their mistakes."
