Assam journalist Gautam Hazarika goes 'missing' amid rising cases of violence against media fraternity

GUWAHATI: Amid several reports of atrocities against journalists in Assam, another journo -- Gautam Hazarika -- has gone missing. The Guwahati journalist's absence has triggered a massive manhunt in Guwahati city, where he is based.

Hazarika, who is an employee of the DY-365 news channel, went missing on Saturday. The journalist had gone out in the morning and did not return.

Meanwhile, his wife, Banani Das, has lodged a missing persons' complaint at the police station in Dispur, Guwahati.

"People with any information about the missing man may contact 7086834103," an official said.
