Assam: Motor Workers Association stage protest on moving of public and commercial transport

The Motor Workers Association on Monday has staged a protest at Khanapara by blocking the National Highway against the Meghalaya and Arunachal government’s ban on moving of public and commercial transport.

The association has raised slogans like ‘No Solutions, No Rest’ and demanded to withdraw the ban on moving of private and public transport to other states.

The association alleged that the Meghalaya police collect Rs. 300 from the drivers going from Assam other than Rs. 500 which the Meghalaya government takes for the COVID-19 test from the people traveling from Assam to Meghalaya.
