DIMAPUR: Assam and Nagaland have agreed to withdraw their security forces from the disputed border areas today within 24 hours during a ministerial-level meeting in the presence of chief secretaries of both the states here.

Assam and Nagaland have agreed to withdraw from disputed territories in Tsurangkong, Mokokchung district.

Assam state education minister Ranoj Pegu has represented the state whereas Nagaland was represented by Deputy chief minister Y Patton.

 

"It is decided by both sides that the security personnel of both states shall simultaneously move back from their present locations to their respective base camps. The simultaneous withdrawal of the security personnel shall begin immediately and shall be completed in the next 24 hours as far as possible.
