Assam-Nagaland CMs meet to discuss issues between both states
Both the Chief Ministers met in Jorhat
Guwahati: Over the years, Assam-Nagaland border dispute has been among the most crucial issues in the region. To discuss this issue, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met on Sunday to discuss all the issues between both the states.
Himanta Biswa Sarma following the meeting in a tweet wrote, “Glad to have met HCM Nagaland Sri @Neiphiu_Rio at Jorhat today, along with MP Sri @KamakhyaTasa. Discussed several issues of mutual interest in order to strengthen the age-old ties & bonhomie b/w two states. We strive towards building an ever united & stronger #NorthEast.”

It may be mentioned that over the past years, there have been several instances where Assam-Nagaland borders had seen disturbances and in order control these situation agreements were signed between the two states. Most of the conflicts were related to the borders and several allegations were coined over alleged encroachments.
