Assam NGO Serving Meals to the Underprivileged at Only Rupees 5

Sivasagar, November 19, 2019:

At a time when food prices are skyrocketing across the nation, Rangpur Initiative, an NGO based in Sivasagar district of Assam is serving plates of piping hot meals to the poor of needy of the area at just Rupees 5.

Needless to say, the Assam NGO's initiative has been lauded by locals and is often frequented by Sivsagar locals in search of a sumptuous yet affordable meal.

The NGO is run by Dipjyoti Sharma, Ramzaan Hussain, Karim Ali, Aftaar Hussain, and Aamhed Hussain, who have come together to cater to the needy people with this unique and noble initiative.

All 5 of them have churned out money from their own pocket to provide a plate of rice to the poor and needy at as low as Rupees 5.

Speaking to the media, one of the members said that they have initiated the service all alone, without any external help.

"We have not taken any funds from anyone, however, if anyone is willing to donate to us, they can give donate to us either in cash or in kind", the NGO owner said. They added that they have been giving off 50% to social service.

According to them, the daily wage labourers earn only 100 bucks or so each day, and to provide them some relief, they have initiated the service.
