Assam: Night curfew relaxed till 930 PM, inter-district movement allowed, fresh Unlock guidelines soon

A set of fresh guidelines may out soon with effect from August 16th, 2020 in Assam, according to sources. The notification is yet to be published.

According to information, the duration of the night curfew may be reduced and inter-district travel may be allowed. This fresh guideline will be in force till August 31st, 2020.

Guwahati is currently under partial lockdown. The city underwent completed lockdown with effect from June 28th, 2020 initially for two weeks which was later extended for another seven days. On July 20th, 2020, the government had announced certain relaxation with night curfew in continue.

Assam reported 4593 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate was 3.20%. Of the 4593 confirmed cases, 632 from Kamrup (M), 460 from Kamrup (R), 335 from Nagaon and 265 from Dibrugarh.

With these the total number of COVID-19 cases has gone up to 68999; of which 21626 are still active and 47209 have recovered so far while the death toll has increased to 161. The new deceased are Himangshu Dey (70) of Cachar, Debabrata Choudhury (49) of Karimganj, Dhaneswar Sharma (56) of Dhemaji, Biswajit Ghosh (53) and Mahesh Baruah (60) of Dibrugarh, M I Hussain (58) of Kamrup Metro.
