Assam: No Deaths Reported in Last 24 Hours Due to Floods

Guwahati, July 31, 2019:

Water levels in all districts are receding again in last 24 hours.

As per the latest updates of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, as on today, a total of 691 villages in 26 revenue circles of districts viz. Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Darrang, Barpeta, Nalbari, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Goalpara, Kamrup,Morigaon, Nagaon, and Jorhat are having flood waters affecting a population of 5, 18, 623.

Presently, 374 Relief Camps are operational in the districts of Barpeta, Chirang, Morigaon, Nagaonand Jorhat districts with 18,890 inmates and 62 Relief Distribution Centres in the districts of Barpeta, Kokrajhar and Kamrup.

In last 24 hours, no deaths have been reported so far.

Water level of Rivers at Danger Level: Brahmaputra at Neamatighat (Jorhat) and Dhubri; Dhansiri(S) at Numaligarh (Golaghat) and JiaBharali at N.T. Rd Xing (Sonitpur).
