Assam Police issues guidelines for movement of vehicles during Durga Puja

GUWAHATI: In order to ensure safety of the public, especially the vulnerable road users and to give free passage to emergency vehicles like fire brigade, ambulances etc. the Assam police on Monday imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles during Durga Puja from October 12 to 15.

In an official release, the police stated that no commercial goods carrying vehicle shall be allowed to ply on NH-27 from 6 AM to 10PM w.e.f October 12 to October 17.

The Police also imposed no entry restrictions under specific police stations:

a) Dispur PS area;

1. Dr. RP Road will be one-way from Ganesh Mandir side towards Ganeshguri Flyover.

2 There will be No entry for vehicles coming from Zoo Road side towards Ganesh Mandir side, Dispur.

3. No entry from (Ganeshguri) Whole Sale market side to Ganeshguri through Service

road.

4. Sankerdev path will be one way only from Wholesale market side towards RP road

(Ganesh Mandir side).

b) Basistha PS area:

1. No entry from Jayanagar Chariali side towards Beltola Tinali except vehicles of local residents. It will be one way from Beltola Tiniali side towards Jayanagar Chariali side.

2. Bishnu Rabha Path will be one way from Beltola Tiniali side towards bhetapara Chariali,

3. No entry on Dr. BN Saikia road from Bettola 'Tiniali towards Basistha Chariali side,

4. AG office by lane will be one way from AG office side towards Saurav Nagar and Tripura Goli, No vehicles should be allowed to enter from Tripura Goli and Saurav Nagar side

5. Parking of vehicle shall be allowed in one side of Tripura Goli.

6. No entry of vehicles from Basistha Chariati ronands Belola Tiniali except the vehicles of Local residents,

c) Bharalumukh PS area:

1. No entry from Fatasil Chariali, Railway Gave No. 6, 7, 8 and from Sati Jayamati road

towards Kumarpara Panchali,

2. No Entry from Chabipool towande Bishnupur and Farasil Chariali

3. No Entry from RK Choudhury road to KRC road.

4. Parking of vehicles shall not be allowed on A.T, Road (Athgaon Ayover to Bharalamukh) and Dinesh Goswami Road (Between Bharalumwkh to Shantipur).

5. One way movement of vehicles will be allowed from Fatasil Charilali to Chabipoat

6. No Entry of vehicles from Sluice gate towands Pragyjyotish college on JP Agarwala

Road

D) Jalukbari PS area:

1. No Entry from Maligaon Chariali towards Pandu. Entry is open from Adabari Tiniali

to Maligaon Charilai via Panda port road.

2. No Entry of vehicles on P.N.G B. Read Railway crossing from Gosala side and the

vehicles will be diverted towards Maligaon 3rd gate side.

3. All vehicles from Kamakhya Railway Station and Gotanagar area shall be allowed to move through Railway Gate No, 3 and Railway HQ.

4. There will be No entry at the entry point of newly constructed Kamakhya Temple ghat Road from Pandu Cabin and also from Kamakhya Mandir side (Near AST stoppage)

Except emergency vehicles.

e) Panbazar PS area:

1. No entry on MS Road from Sani Mandi side towards Gate No. 04. Entry of vehicle

will be opened from Railway Gate No. 04 towards Shani mandir.

2. No entry of vehicles from MG road towards Khubchand point on Dr. JC Das Road.

3. The vehicles coming from Commissioner point towards GNB road will be diverted

through College Hostel road towards GNB road

f) Chandmari PS / Geetanagar PS:

1. No vehicles shall be allowed to enter from Anuradha Point to Hatigarh Chariali

2. Vehicles will be allowed to enter from Harigarh Chariali only.

g) Nooamati PS area:

1. No entry from Bandana Point to Refinery gate via SBI Gali.
