Assam Police seizes huge cache of explosives and ammunition, apprehends two in Baksa

TAMULPUR: In-charge of Kumarikata Op and team on Monday seized a huge cache of explosives and ammunition at Darrangamela in Tamulpur district. The police also arrested two persons identified as Mohammad Ali and Hanif Ali.

Baksa District Superintendent of Police Rajen Singh and Tamulpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rupajyoti Kalita directed the police to conduct a search operation under the leadership of Nilbhajyoti Nath.

During the operation, police recovered 151 mortar shells, 84 rocket launchers, 5 mortars, and about 200 kg of ammunition and munitions.

The team seized large numbers of used explosives, shells, munitions & ammunition during a search operation.

Police informed that the miscreants procured the items from Darranga Field Firing Range of Army.

Further Investigation underway.
