Owing to the shortage, the state government recently took the decision to use the existing stock of Covaxin for those who inoculated with second dose of the vaccine.

He added if the supply increases later, they will start administering the first dose. The Health Minister urged the citizens to not panic as the gap between the two doses has been increased from 28 to 42 days.

The Union Health Ministry recently announced fixed rates for the administration of Covid-19 vaccines in private hospitals.

While the maximum price for Covaxin and Covishield has been fixed at Rs 1,410 and Rs 780 per dose respectively, Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine will cost Rs 1,145 per dose in private hospitals.
