Assam records 49 cases in a single day as positives in India cross 107,000

As of 20th May, India has reached 107,000* in terms of corona positives. The country currently has 61,149 active cases with 42,297 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 3,303. On the same day, Assam recorded 49 positive cases.

As many as +146 coronavirus deaths were confirmed in India in the last 24 hours. Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross a thousand deaths. It has recorded 37,136 corona cases with 9639 cured and 1325 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 12,140 cases with 5,043 cured and 719 deaths. Tamil Nadu has crossed 12,448 cases with 4,895 cured and 84 deaths. The National Capital with 10554 covid19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on18th May. So, far 4485 have been cured in Delhi with 168 deaths.

India has surpassed China in terms of the total number of Covid19 cases. So, far China has 82,960 cases.

In Northeast India: Covid19

Tripura has the highest number of positives followed by Assam. Sikkim so far has 0 home cases.

Corona in Assam

On 19th May, the state has recorded 49 cases in a single day.

The latest being, 3 new corona positive cases have been found in the state of Assam. The total patient count has gone up to 157 so far with 41 discharged. There are 110 active cases with 4 deaths and 2 migrated cases. The positives are all detected from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre.

Taking stock of the matter, Assam’s Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has advised people to maintain social distance. “I request all to maintain social distancing, must wear masks, and wash your hands frequently”, said Sarma.
