Assam records 63% recovery rate, 37% active cases

Assam has recorded 62.65 percent recovery rate in COVID-19 cases which is marginally higher than the national recovery rate recovery. The national recovery rate is 62.42 percent.

A total of 9147 out of 14600 have been cured and discharged in the state as on July 10^th, 2020 while 4,95,513 out of 7,93,802 have been cured and discharged across the country so far.

Meanwhile, Assam currently has 5423 active COVID-19 cases, which is 37.14 percent of the total cases. The active cases rate of the state is higher than the national rate 34.85 percent.

A total of 27 persons died due to the infection in the state, which is 0.18 percent of the total cases. This is far better than the national mortality rate 2.72.

The state reported a total of 568 COVID-19 cases on July 9^th, 2020 taking the state’s total to 14,600, the state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated. Guwahati alone reported 355 cases.

Assam has crossed the 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31st, 2020.

India COVID-19 cases so far

India recorded the highest-ever daily spike of 26,507 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the total tally to 7,93,802 lakh. The death toll is now 21,604, as per data released by the Union Health Ministry. Active cases in India stand at 2,76,685 while 4,95,513 have been cured or discharged so far.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 6 thousand deaths. It has recorded 2,30,599 corona cases with 1,27,259 cured, 9,667 deaths, and 93,673 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 1,07,051 cases with 82,226 cured, 3258 deaths, and 21,567 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 2,16,581 positive cases with 78,161 cured, 1,765 deaths 46,655 active cases. Gujarat with 39,194 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 27,718 have been cured, 2,008 deaths, and 9,468 active cases.
