Assam reports 184 COVID-19 cases on June 17, total stands at 4694

Assam reported a total of 184 COVID-19 cases on June 17^th, 2020, taking the state’s total to 4694. Late on June 17^th, 2020, 89 cases were reported; of which 30 are from Baksa, 20 are from Barpeta, 15 are from Kamrup (M), 9 are from Kokrajhar, 6 are from Jorhat, 2 are from Golaghat, 2 are from Nagaon, 2 are from Sonitpur, 1 each from Dhemaji, Bongaigaon and Biswanath.

Informing this, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted:

Of the 4694 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 2041 are active COVID-19 cases and 2642 have been cured and discharged while eight died due to the infection in the state so far.

Assam has crossed the 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31st, 2020.

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. As on June 17th, the country currently has 366K confirmed COVID-19 cases, 160384 active cases with 194325 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 12237.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 3 thousand deaths. It has recorded 116752 corona cases with 59166 cured, 5651 deaths, and 51935 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 47102 cases with 17457 cured, 1904 deaths, and 27741 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 50193 positive cases with 27624 cured, 576 deaths 21993 active cases. Gujarat with 25093 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 17430 have been cured, 1560 deaths, and 6103 active cases.
