Assam Rifles to collaborate with Mizoram govt for promotion of national, state programs

AIZAWL: Pradeep Chandran Nair, Lieutenant General of the Assam Rifles (AR), on Friday paid a visit to the Company operating bases of Zokhawthar and Champhai, as well as the Batallion HQ at Serchhip in Mizoram to assess the Assam rifles' operational preparedness to combat cross-border smuggling of weapons and narcotics, as well as the management of illegal influxes of Myanmar nationals.

Lieutenant General PC Nair also met with Chief Minister of Mizoram Zoramthanga at CM office, Aizawl.

The DG informed the CM that Assam rifles will collaborate with the state government to promote all national and state government programmes and improve the living standards of the hinterland's people.

The CM praised the outstanding connections between the Assam Rifles and the State Government and expressed his hopes that Assam Rifles good work would continue in the future days.

The general officer also met with local officials at the Land Custom Station (LCS) in Zokhawthar and engaged with NGO office bearers in Kamzawl.

He also interacted with IMB troops, emphasising their important role in border security and the positive influence they will have on the local population.

He also urged them to work with the same zest, enthusiasm, and spirit. Along with Major General Ranjit Singh, VSM, IG ASSAM RIFLES and Brigadier Digvijay Singh, SM, DIG ASSAM RIFLES, the DG inspected the general situation in the region.
