Assam son Golap Rabha has brought laurels to the State as he has been crowned with the ‘Amber Prix International 2019’ title at the Amber Prix Championships held in Lithuania in Europe. The four-day bodybuilding championship began on 17 May.
The Amber Prix International Championship event is a part of the international bodybuilding competition ‘Europe AM and Pro Championship’ organized by World Fitness Federation and World Body Building Federation (WFF/WBBF).
Rabha, who is a resident of Boko in Assam, had also became the 1st runners-up in Pro World Cup 2019.
Rabha has said that he is feeling good due to being able to compete in the international stage and competing with the world-class bodybuilders from across the globe.
It may be mentioned that Rabha had earlier bagged the prestigious titles of Mr India in 2017 and 2018 and also Mr Asia in 2018.
Rabha started his bodybuilding career in 2003 under Jiten Kalita at Boko where he lives with his mother, younger brother, wife and daughter.
Rabha, a professional bodybuilder, runs a gym while his younger brother runs a mobile shop in Boko, which is about 65km from Guwahati. He trains six hours a day, two hours at a stretch.
Rabha is the latest person from Assam to hit the headlines with path-breaking achievements since 2018, after sprinter Hima Das, who was the first to win a medal at the IAAF junior world meet, filmmaker Rima Das of Village Rockstars, India’s nominee at the Oscars, Ranjan Gogoi, first Chief Justice of India from the Northeast, and Binita Jain, first to win Rs 1 crore at the reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
