Guwahati, December 8, 2019:
Assam’s promising Swimmer Shivangi Sarma has clinched two Gold medals in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) in Nepal. She has won two golds and two silvers in the 25-metre swimming race.
With this win, Shivangi has been able to make a mark in the SAG held in Nepal. While Assam is pinning its hope on the determined Swimmer, Shivangi is making her home state proud by bagging Gold and Silver and is hopeful to add more to her kitty in the ongoing South Asian Games that is underway in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Janakpur.
She had recently bagged Silver in 400m Free Style at the 73rd Senior National Aquatic Championship 2019 held in Madhya Pradesh.
It may be mentioned here that Shivangi has also qualified for the much awaited Khelo India Youth Games 2019.
In the South Asian Games, Nepal has held the swimming competition in a 25-metre swimming pool, which is known as a short course pool, whereas, all the countries including India train in Olympic-size pools of 50 meters.
