Assam: Two more positives from Cachar district, state tally reaches 106

Two more persons have been tested positive for coronavirus, taking the total to 106 in Assam. The fresh cases have been reported from the Cachar district.

The number of patients recovered is 41, so far active cases are 60. The death count is 3 and the migrated number of patients is 2.

Taking stock of the matter, the Health Minister tweeted

As of 18th May, India has reached 96,169 in terms of corona positives. The country currently has 56,316 active cases with 36,823 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 3,029.

As many as 5,242 coronavirus cases were confirmed in India in the last 24 hours. Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross a thousand deaths. It has recorded 33,053 corona cases with 7,688 cured and 1,198 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 11,379 cases with 4,499 cured and 659 deaths. Tamil Nadu has crossed 11224 cases with 4,172 cured and 78 deaths. The National Capital with 10,054covid19 cases has crossed the 10 thousandmark. So, far4,485 have been cured in Delhi with 160 deaths.

India has surpassed China in terms of the total number of Covid19 cases. So, far China has 82,954 cases.

In Assam

Kamrup Metro has recorded the highest number of cases of corona positives, followed by Cachar and Golaghat.

Containment zones so far: Following the spread of the virus, there are now 10 designated containment zones. Rajkamal Hotel and encircling area, Fancybazar; Residential area within the campus of Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Birubari; Panbazar Railway Colony, Amiya Nagar, Chandmari; GS Colony, Fatasil; Near Kumar Nursing home, Kumarpara; Pubali Path, Santipur; Near Kali Mandir, Rathkhula, Fatasil Ambari; Notun Basti, Go path, Datalpara, Fatasil Ambari, and S.K. Bora Road, Rukminigaon have been converted into containment zones in Guwahati.
