Assam's Burhidihing River Turns Fiery Red after Oil Pipe Explosion

Fire broke out in Assam’s Burhidihing river after an alleged oil pipeline explosion at OIL India’s Duliajan plant.

According to reports, the leakage happened from underwater pipeline of OIL's Duliajan plant. The pipeline allegedly burst on Sunday and the Burhidihing caught on fire. It has been on fire since the past two days, as per reports.

The fire reportedly broke out on Burhidihing river, more than 600kms away from Guwahati. The cause of the fire has been cited as leakage from underwater pipeline carrying crude oil.

The damage caused is yet to be examined.
