At least eight deaths were confirmed at the Astroworld Festival in Texas. Several more were injured in a heavy crowd during Travis Scott's Friday performance.

The rapper stopped his set several times to ask security to help the fans get out of the crowd.

The incident began at around 9 o'clock last night when "the crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage" which caused some panic and it started causing some injuries, people began to fall out, become unconscious and it created additional panic.

Eight confirmed fatalities were reported. However, the cause of death were not confirmed.

Around 50,000 people were in the crowd at rapper Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival.

Astroworld is a music festival created by 29-year-old American rapper Travis Scott and launched in 2018.
