DHAKA: A human trafficking network lead by Dhaka's Tiktok Hridoy, the prime accused in the gang-rape video incident , is active across Middle East, India and Bangladesh.

According to the police, the gang has contacts with some hotel chains in India where girls are smuggled.

Hridoy has a gang that includes members from Bangladesh's southeastern areas and Indian states.

Hridoy, recently made headlines after a video of him allegedly participating in the gang-rape and violent torture of a Bangladeshi female in Bengaluru, India went viral on social media.

Assam police shared parts from the video that was circulating on social media to track down the perpetrators and Bengaluru city police detained four men and two women in the case.

On Thursday (May 27) night, the rape victim's father filed a case with the Hatirjheel police station under the Human Trafficking and Pornography Act.

The victim's mother admitted that they had no idea their daughter had been transported to another country.

She went to the cops and appealed, "Bring return my daughter as soon as possible. I can't imagine her living in another nation so far away."

The victim, who had completed grade three, had married a Chandpur man seven years back.

The couple used to live in Moghbazar with their three-year-old kid. Her husband is a migrant worker who moved to Kuwait three years ago and she used to visit her parents on a regular basis.

"She met her husband's friend Hridoy in Moghbazar a little over a year ago and told me he would assist her get work abroad with her spouse. I attempted to dissuade her but she insisted on going, according to the victim's father.

He said that his daughter had been forced to travel to India. Following the emergence of COVID-19, he became ill and was unable to communicate with her.

All five Bangladeshis detained in India in connection with the incident and entered the country illegally and none of them had passports or visas.

They utilise TikTok-related promises to lure school and college females, according to Md Shahidullah, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tejgaon Division. Adding he said, “India will examine the problem in its own way.

However, the culprits are Bangladeshis, efforts are being taken to return them to their homeland through bilateral cooperation.

Efforts to resurrect the survivor back are also being made.
