GUWAHATI: Three young female bikers -- namely Nirmali Nath (Assam), Onen Nenty (Nagaland), and Rosalynn Lushai (Mizoram) are all set to embark on a voyage unlike any other!

The trio -- brought together by social media -- shall be touring all the 7 sister states of the Northeast Indian region within a span of 7 days! Yes, you read correctly!

Talking to InsideNE, Elina Satapathy, the partner of Seven Sisters holidays which is the event partner, said, "On April 3, the bikers will be flagged off from Guwahati. From there, they will head on to Meghalaya capital Shillong before halting at Silchar for a night. From Silchar, they will head towards Tripura's capital Agartala before going to Aizawl in Mizoram, where they will stay for a day. From there, they will make a stop at Jiribam in Manipur, before riding to the capital, Imphal. From Imphal, they will head to Kohima in Nagaland and then to Dimapur, the state's commercial capital. From there, they will head to Tezpur in Assam, before heading to the final Northeast destination in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. They will be flagged in at Kaziranga national park."

The trio of bikers has have said that they will use this opportunity to 'break stereotypes and redefine the Northeast.'

"At the outset, I would like to thank our almighty for giving me this opportunity and the privilege to go on this tour with these two amazing ladies. I would also like to dedicate this ride to my mom who passed away this year in January," Onen said, brimming with enthusiasm.

Asked about the purpose of this unique tour, Onen said, "We are making this tour happen not because we want to travel and have fun but we are doing it because we want to tell the stories of what our seven sister states look like after the pandemic, hence we are using the term redefining northeast. As women we wanted to see changes in society for the women folks across the world, the three of us are here to break the shackles in the minds of the women in our region and we want to tell them that the kitchen is not the only place where a woman belongs.

Onen further said that for the tour to happen, a lot of friends and loved ones have chipped in and collaborated with the trio of bikers in many ways. "We had no choices but to seek sponsors from various sections in the society of which some were very generous and they were happy to support the cause and some from whom we expected the most turned deaf to our request."

The trio of riders will depart on their incredible adventure early in the morning at 7:00 am tomorrow from the Kahanapara area of the city.
