BHOPAL: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker has been booked along with three others for alleged abduction and rape of a 19-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district.

 

The 19-year-old woman reportedly went missing on February 18 from outside her house.

Following that her family filed a missing person’s complaint the next day.

 

The victim was allegedly abducted in a four-wheeler, she was also forced to drink liquor and was allegedly gang-raped for two days, after that she was dumped near her house yesterday, said Shahdol Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mukesh Vaish.

 

Following the incident, the victim approached the police and in her complaint, she named the four accused among which Vijay Tripathi has been identified as the BJP Jaitpur mandal chief, while the other three are- Munna Singh, Rajesh Shukla, and Monu Maharaj, all are in 35- 40 age group.

She told police that she was kidnapped in a red car and were taken to a farm house where they allegedly gang raped her.

 

A case has been registered by the Shahdol police against the accused, however, no arrest has been made as they managed to flee.

 

Police suspected that the four must have fled in the same red car.

 

Moreover, soon after news was spread out that the name of the BJP Jaitpur mandal chief was one of the defendants in the FIR, the BJP district president Kamal Pratap Singh issued a statement and released on social media telling that Vijay Tripathi has been expelled from the party with immediate effect.
