Guwahati, April 19, 2019:

The scary “black” has again gained momentum in the state of Assam, as frustrated people of the state were seen waving black flags at a public rally by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who was participating in an election campaign ahead of the Phase-III of the Lok Sabha elections.

The black flag protests were trending across the state during the period when the protest against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 was at its peak. From CM Sarbananda Sonowal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all faced the wrath of the people who kept confronting the leaders with black flags wherever they went.

The report of the latest ‘black flag’ incident came in from Goroimari where a lady was aggressively waving black flag during an election campaign rally by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of CM Sonowal. The CM was campaigning for the Gauhati Lok Sabha constituency candidate Queen Oja.

Nearly 20 people were seen waving the black flags at the Chief Minister.
