Body of Indian Man Recovered in Bhutan

Tamulpur, June 11, 2019:

The body of an Indian suspected to be killed by wild elephants has been recovered from Bhangtar in Bhutan on Tuesday. The deceased is yet to be identified.

The person was suspected to be trampled to death by elephants. Indian police along with the Bhutan Police recovered the body from Bhangtar today.

It is learnt that Bhutan police spotted the body at Bhangtar and called up the officer in-charge of Nagrijuli police station on Monday.

Immediately after getting the news, a team of police personnel from Nagrijuli Police Station led by OC Ranjan Kumar Das left for the destination. A team of forest officials also joined the police team.

However, due to difficult terrain and poor mobile network, the body could not be recovered on Monday. The body was recovered with the help of Bhutan police and the locals there. The body has been kept at Nagrijuli Polica Station.

It is also not known why the deceased entered the dense forest at Bhangtar in Bhutan.
