MUMBAI: Noted Gujarati and Hindi film actor Amit Mistry, known for roles in films such as Shor In The City, Bey Yaar died today after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The 47-year-old actor breathed his last at his residence in Mumbai’s Andheri around 9.30 am.

"He woke up, had breakfast, and even exercised before he suffered a cardiac arrest ."Amit had no underlying medical condition, it's absolutely shocking news, "Maharshi Desai, the actor's manager, said.

Amit Mistry's untimely death shocked his colleagues and industry insiders.

Actors Jacqueline Fernandes, Rajesh Tailang, Cyrus Sahukar, Sumeet Vyas, Kubbra Sait, and many others have condoled his death on social media.

The actor was well-known in the Gujarati theatre circuit. His work in Hindi films such as hor In The City, Kya Kehna, and Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, and Amazon Prime Video series Bandish Bandits, as well as his collaborations with filmmaker Raj-DK including 99, got him wider attention.

Amit Mistry was also praised for his performance as musician Devendra Rathod in last year's hit series Bandish Bandits. His television credits include the hit show Yeh Duniya Hai Rangeen.
