Bollywood and television actor Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly committed suicide at his residence in Mumbai on June 13th, 2020. As per the preliminary investigation, he, who acted in the biopic on cricketer MS Dhoni and several other superhit films, was found hanging at his Bandra residence. The post-mortem reports are awaited.
His demise came as a shock to many as this is the fourth death of a famous personality from the Hindi film industry to pass away in the past two months, after Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor succumbed to cancer and Wajid Khan from the Sajid-Wajid duo fell prey to the coronavirus pandemic.

It may be mentioned, during the ravaging flood in Nagaland in 2018, Sushant donated Rs 1.25 crore to Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
The Nagaland CM had written a plea for help on social media. On September 4th, 2018, he tweeted that he was “moved at the kind gesture made by @itsSSR and his team towards #NagalandFloods and willingness to help #Nagaland at this crucial hour. Your contribution is encouraging and I hope to see the rest of the nation come forward selflessly, to #DonateForNagaland.” (sic)
Around 50,000 people were affected by the floods and the state government had estimated that Rs 800 crore would be needed to help the region.
Minister of Law and Justice of India, Ravi Shankar Prasad, while mourning the untimely death of the actor, tweeted:
Actor Raveen Tandon said, “Extremely shocked and saddened to hear about itsSSR#SushantSinghRajput s demise . Speechless. A tragedy. So young and so talented,he had miles to go…rest in peace dearest sushant.” (sic)
