Bollywood Stars Seek Maa Kamakhya's Blessings ahead of Filmfare Awards

Guwahati, February 15, 2020:

Bollywood stars who have come to Guwahtati for the 65th edition of the Filmfare Awards on Saturday visited the Kamakhya temple.

Accompanied by heavy security detail, many stars were seen heading to the temple to seek blessings from the Goddess ahead of the Filmfare Awards that will be held later today in Guwahati's Sarusajai stadium.

Stars such as Karan Johar, Ayushman Khurrana, Karan Johar, Thanglen Soubam, Nikita Jaisinghani, Zena Kotwal, and Amol More were seen reaching Kamakhya early in the morning. According to media reports, Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit will also visit the historic temple later today.

Altogether 150 Assamese artistes will perform in the mega event, and three of the performances will focus on the Assamese culture – Bihu, Sattriya and tribal dance.

Meanwhile, Bollywood heartthrob Ranveer Singh has promised a "power-packed" performance in the awards and in a short clip that was released online, the star can be seen performing a dance in a colorful outfit while wearing a Che Guevera-like hat.

Meanwhile, Guwahati Police have made a detailed arrangement for smooth flow of traffic around the venue. Only those vehicles having valid car passes shall be allowed entry into the stadium. All spectators will enter via gate 1A, 1B and 1C. A total of 27 parking places have been earmarked outside the stadium, police officials informed.
