BPF MLA from Gossaigaon constituency Majendra Narzary passes away

GOSSAIGAON: The Bodoland People's Front (BPF's ) MLA from Gossaigaon constituency under Kokrajhar district, Majendra Narzary passed away this morning 5.50 am after losing the battle against COVID-19.

The MLA was suffering from post-COVID complications.

Since he had been tested COVID-19 positive recently, he was admitted to Rupnath Brahma civil hospital but later he was referred to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) and after long treatment, he was tested negative.

Narzary's health has deteriorated as a result of post-COVID complications, and he has been put on ventilation at the GMCH.

Late Tuesday night, Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta paid a visit to the BPF MLA at the GMCH and assessed his health. The minister also advised doctors to take every possible measures to treat him.

But unfortunately, MLA Majendra Narzary breathed his last at the GMCH today.

Party leaders, friends, and family are all saddened at the sudden demise of Narzary, while, party leaders are taking to Twitter and expressing condolences.

State chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma condoling his demise wrote on Twitter, "I am pained to learn about the untimely demise of Gossaigaon MLA Majendra Narzary. A dedicated social worker committed politician and deeply loved, his absence shall be sorely missed. My heartfelt condolences to the family and prayers for eternal peace of the noble soul."

Former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary wrote,"GRIEF. SORROW. LOSS. The unfortunate demise of our beloved Majendra Narzary Da ( MLA of 28. No Gossaigoan LAC) has left a deep sense of regret in our hearts. It is a personal loss for me. For many years we have shared our political journey together and worked together for good governance. Together we had more dreams to fulfill for our region. His contribution to our society is immense and cannot be measured. He will be always remembered as people’s leader. May his soul Rest in Peace. May you always bless us from heavenly abode Majen DaBPF leader Pramila Rani Brahma wrote, "Veteran BPF leader, MLA of 28 No Gossaigaon LAC, Sjt. Majendra Narzary passed away today this morning at about 5.40 A.M.My deepest condolence to the bereaved family. May his Soul Rest in Peace."

Congress leader Ripun Bora condoled the demise of Narzary and praying for his eternal peace wrote on Twitter,“Extremely saddened at the sudden demise of our Mahajot partner MLA of BPF, Majendra Narzary. My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of late Nazary. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
