The Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) observed a four hour hunger strike on Friday demanding to conduct the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) polls at the earliest. The protest was staged at the BPF headquarter, Balajan and Salakati.

The agitators threatened to stage protests in Delhi and Dispur if the election were nor conducted soon.

On Wednesday evening, members and supporters of the party took out a torchlight rally across the 40 BTC constituencies. The members and supporters of the party under Khalingduar block BPF took out a torchlight rally throughout Tangla town and raised slogans to save democracy and hold BTC polls by maintaining COVID-19 protocol.

The BPF women wing on Monday took out a rally in Kokrajhar town to put pressure to hold the general election to BTC at the earliest. Around 100 women members of the party participated in the rally which started from BPF party central office situated at Jwhwlao Dwimalu Road through the streets of Kokrajhar to the Deputy Commissioner's office.
