TAMULPUR: Bodoland People's Front (BPF) supremo Hagrama Mohilary today said that the Mahajot's winning of the election will ascertain the formation of a Council led by his party.

"No one can stop the formation of a Mahajot government. A BPF-led government will also be formed in the BTC if the general coalition government is formed," he said at a rally in Baksa's Tamulpur.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of the massive rally, further went on to claim that a number of UPPL MCLAs are in touch with BPF.

At the same time, launching a tirade against successor Pramod Boro, claimed that the new UPPL-led government is paying the contractors' bills without them working. Addressing the meeting, Congress general secretary Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya said that all the BPF will win the elections this time.

He said- the BJP has been doing politics by giving a flung out to the people of the country. Bhattacharya targeted the BJP as an attack - questioning what protection would provide to the people which did not know how to respect its mother. . He said the 'CAA' act, which destroys castes, will never come into force if a government of the general assembly is formed by Mahajhot.

Later, asked by the press about his ongoing war-of-words with Himanta Biswa Sarma,  Mohilary expressed ignorance about rebel leader M Batha and termed the minister as 'anti-tribal.'

Making a blunt attack, Mohilary told reporters that Himanta, who said he would keep plow in the museum, would be kept at the museum in Dhaka.

At one point during his interaction, he even turned down heavily on prime minister Narendra Modi, who visited Kokrajhar in the BTR yesterday. "Even if the Prime Minister comes to the BTC, he only promises, but never fulfills it. There is no implementation of his schemes."

BPF chief Hagrama Mahilary arrived at a huge election meeting held at the Bangalipara High School ground in Tamulpur, where the BPF candidate Rangja Khungur Basumtary ditched the party before going on to join the BJP citing "economic reasons."

Addressing the people present at the huge election meeting said, "The BJP has attacked democracy by hijacking the BPF candidate from Tamulpur constituency. Now the people of Tamulpur constituency are my responsibility from today even if they are not candidates".

At the same rally, the BPF supremo again claimed that the BJP is afraid of defeat, which is why it is resorting to acts such as the hijacking of candidates fearing defeat. "BJP president Ranjit Das also in fear of defeat and left Sarbhog constituency," he said.
