Nagaland Chief Secretary announces new rules for Unlock 2.0; details here

KOHIMA: Nagaland's Chief Secretary J Alam has announced a further set of relaxations that shall be applicable in the state that has begun an 'unlock' in earnest to return life to a semblance of normalcy in view of the dip in COVID-19 cases.

Shops and business establishments dealing with all kinds of goods and articles will be permitted

to open from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. Takeaways, home delivery, and other e-commerce services

will be permitted to open and operate on all days.

During Unlock 2.0, outdoor sports activities other than competitions will be permitted, subject to the attendance of not more than 100 persons, and adherence of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and all the applicable SOPs shall be issued from time to time.

Furthermore, long-distance trains will be allowed to stop at Dimapur railway station. However, all the in-bound passengers should be asymptomatic and shall be required to produce a certificate of vaccination (both doses taken).

Again, the inter-district movement shall be allowed subject to the person(s) being asymptomatic and having completed their COVD-19 vaccination (both doses taken).

However, bus service, intra, and inter-district taxi service, and pillion riding on two-wheelers shall continue to remain suspended.

A meeting of the High Powered Committee (HPC) for COVID-19 headed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Thursday decided to begin Unlock-2 with further relaxations.

Sports activities would also be allowed with a gathering of up to 100 people. A COVID-19 negative report has been made mandatory for persons entering the state. The test should be conducted not before 72 hours of entry.
